24 FRESCOES PREVIEW
Terra Firma | March 2021
Terra Firma Demi 2, 2021, pigmented plaster on board, 120 x 80cm
WELCOME
We’re so excited for you to join us for the preview of our inaugural collection of 24 Frescoes.
Tell Me More!…
Every two months, we’ll be creating a limited edition series of 24 fresco panels in 3 sizes; individual original artworks created in pigmented plaster by Charles, inspired by a special narrative vignette and colour palette.
This is the very first collection, Terra Firma.
The Inspiration…
Terra Firma is an exploration of the tension between the sense of being grounded and centred versus feeling the need to seek and explore - something we feel is both personal and universal at the moment. For the palette and inspirational vignette we drew inspiration from Spanish earth, sky, heat, art and history. Everything from Catalonian art, to cacoa-questing conquistadors, ancient daubings from the Altamira caves, antique pavement tiles from Seville, and old rock formations of Los Mallos de Riglos.
The Colour Palette…
The Terra Firma colour palette includes: Burnt Sienna, Cinnamon, Burnt Umber, Cocoa, Dark Chocolate,
Pale Pistachio, Sky Blue, Slate Blue, Iced Blue White, Archive Paper, Old Paper, and Gold.
The Artist…
All of the pieces were created by Charles in intense windows of time in our Little Studio near Abergavenny.
More about Charles’ artistic practice and what inspires him can be found on The Artist page.
The Launch & Purchase Details…
The collection will be going live on Wednesday 24th March on our website.
All our subscribers will receive priority notification when the pieces are up in our Shop.
Fresco panels are in 3 sizes: Demi (120 x 80cm), Midi (80 x 60cm) and Fragment (60 x 40cm).
Prices are from £390 excl. p&p.
Each fresco panel will be sold backed and Ready to Hang and accompanied by a Special Piece of our narrative.
We also have Behind The Scenes Video Clips and Photos of most of the pieces being created which we will email across to collectors after a fresco panel is purchased..
A Certificate of Authenticity will also follow by post.
Take a Tour…
Would you like to join us in the studio and view a fresco panel up close?
The frescoes are beautifully textured and layered so extra viewing will really add to your sense of a piece.
We’d be happy to give you a Tour of The Studio and Fresco Panels via FaceTime/ video if you would like to see anything in more detail before purchasing. Charles is also available to speak about each work in more depth.
Drop us an email at studio@astermuro.co.uk to arrange a tour/ viewing or ring us on 07384 256 150.
We’d also love to hear your thoughts on the collection. You can message us on Instagram @astermuro or email the studio.
Only one thing left to say…
